OS Giken couplings are manufactured to very close tolerances and that is why we offer individually forged solid centering tools to eliminate the backlash often found with plastic centering tools.
These tools simulate the transmission input shaft to ensure an accurate fit to the pilot bushing/bearing and prevent sagging that often occurs when installing multi-plate clutches. This is very important, as misaligned clutch plates can lead to a difficult reinstallation of the transmission. Transmission seizure can create leverage on the clutch plates, which in turn leads to warped discs (improper installation).
