The OS Giken enlarged rear differential cover is made of cast aluminum and is designed to increase fluid capacity. Please note: this cover is only suitable for the Mazda MX5 ND 1.5.
The standard capacity of 0.6 liters of differential fluid has proven inadequate for heavy duty use, leading to frequent fluid changes. An effective doubling of fluid capacity has been proven to extend fluid drain intervals and helps improve the life of the differential's internal components, and associated bearings and seals.
The cover is dimensionally identical to the OEM unit for precise fitment and maintenance of OEM side bearing tolerance. It also has additional ports to facilitate the installation of a differential cooler, as well as a temperature sensor for data acquisition.
