Recommended for limited slip differential oil for track use with gearboxes with limited slip differential. If the limited slip differential is in its own housing, such as in the rear-wheel drive BMW, we recommend OS250R.

OS Giken has released OS 7.2_GEAR oil as the FF version of OS-250R (80W-250) oil for FR, which is optimized for OS Giken's mechanical plate lock (Superlock or TCD). The new range of OS 7.2GEAR oils has a kinematic viscosity index of 7.2 at 100℃, which is thinner than normal. That is why it is a gear oil with a low viscosity that is unique compared to the competition and that allows both the limited slip differential and the synchronization rings in the gearbox to function properly.

The advantage is that the low viscosity oil is effective for the synchronization mechanism from the first use, making it easier to engage the transmission. Mixed with PAO-based ester, it creates a film on gears with high heat resistance and protection performance, and also improves high-temperature properties.

The ideal properties of the oil for track use mean that it is not advisable to use the oil for more than 1 season. It can also be used on the street, but it must be changed before 10,000 km because the best is gone.

Successfully tested on the track with a Cayman S Cup car. After testing many different types of oil on this car in collaboration with reputed oil producers to create a good balance of friction for the synchro rings, good lubrication for the locking mechanism and a smooth-running shifting mechanism, this OS Giken oil appeared to create an exceptionally good balance. For a sublimely working locking, smooth shifting, but still well-functioning synchro rings.
