- What type of LSD is this?
It is a Clutch-Type LSD, which is broadly comparable to the ZF LSDs supplied, for example, in the BMW M3, M4 GT4, Porsche 911 GT3 RS, or Nissan GTR Nismo.

- Why is this differential more expensive than most other LSDs?
It is a new LSD, not a reconditioned unit. The best techniques and materials have been used, eliminating the disadvantages of a traditional limited-slip differential. However, this high-end technology comes at a price.

- Is it comparable to a Quaife or other Torsen LSD?
Partially. This SuperLock LSD is also maintenance-free. However, much more is possible in terms of adjustment; the differential also locks with one wheel off the ground (unlike a Quaife) and also locks during braking/deceleration. Additionally, up to 100% lock-up is possible, so more power can be transferred to the road. You will experience noticeably better stability in your car with an OS Giken, whereas with a Quaife, you might sometimes be unpleasantly surprised. Furthermore, the SuperLock is highly suitable for drifting, while a Quaife or other Torsen LSD is significantly less so.

- Why this SuperLock LSD?
The design can handle more power
Up to 100% lock-up is possible, but without the disadvantages normally associated with 100% lock-up.
No maintenance is required; the plates show virtually no wear. There are race teams that have been running the differential problem-free for 10 years, only changing the oil.

Adjustable acceleration/deceleration lock-up
With ideal adjustment and 100% lock-up, you can expect better lap times or more controllable drifts. The differential can also be set up for excellent public road driving. At slow speeds, it will offer the advantages of an open differential, and under acceleration, the grip of a race SuperLock LSD.

The major difference lies in central springs that actually PULL the pressure plates (which apply pressure to the clutch plates) TOWARDS each other. These springs effectively ensure minimal lock-up during gentle driving, parking, or (braking) turn-in. During acceleration, this spring force will still be overcome, and the differential will lock.
