OS Superlock Clutch-Type LSD

- What type of limited-slip differential is this?
It is a clutch-type LSD, which is broadly comparable to the ZF limited-slip differentials supplied, for example, in the BMW M3, M4 GT4, Porsche 911 GT3 RS, or Nissan GTR Nismo.

- Why is this differential more expensive than most other limited-slip differentials?
This is a new limited-slip differential, not a reconditioned unit. It utilizes the best technologies and materials, eliminating the disadvantages of a traditional LSD. However, this advanced technology comes at a price.

- Is it comparable to a Quaife or other Torsen differentials?
Partially. This limited-slip differential is also maintenance-free. However, much more is possible in terms of adjustment; the differential also locks with one wheel off the ground (unlike a Quaife), and it also locks during braking/deceleration. Furthermore, up to 100% lockup is possible, meaning more power can be transferred to the road surface. And you will experience noticeably better stability in your car with an OS Giken, where a Quaife might sometimes provide an unpleasant surprise. Additionally, the Superlock is highly suitable for drifting, while a Quaife or other Torsen is significantly less so.

- What is OS Giken?
OS Giken is a high-tech, Japanese-origin company specializing in engine tuning and supplying high-quality clutches, differentials, and gearboxes, among other components. It is very well-known in Asia and America, and in Europe, primarily for Asian brands such as Nissan.

- Why this limited-slip differential?
Design can handle more power
Up to 100% lockup, but without the disadvantages normally associated with 100% lockup.
No maintenance required; the clutch plates barely wear. There are race teams that have been driving with the differential problem-free for 10 years and have only changed the oil.

Adjustable acceleration/deceleration lockup
Due to the ideal adjustment and 100% lockup, you can expect faster lap times or more controllable drifts. The differential can also be adjusted so that it can be driven perfectly on public roads. It will offer the advantages of an open differential during slow driving, and when the throttle is applied, the grip of a race limited-slip differential.

Central springs / negative preload (yellow box in drawing)
The big difference lies in central springs that actually pull the pressure pieces (which apply pressure to the clutch plates) TOWARDS each other. These springs effectively ensure that there is little lockup during calm driving, parking, or (braking) turn-in. During acceleration, this spring force
will still be overcome, and the differential will lock.

The differential has been proven by professional teams worldwide in rally, racing, and drifting.

An OS Giken limited-slip differential guarantees better stability and grip for every type of car. Rear-wheel drive, front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive. Engine rear, front, or mid-mounted, we help you determine the correct configuration.

You can always inquire about the possibilities without obligation, and for questions about the Superlock, we are happy to assist you.

The OS Superlock is available for almost every sports brand: Acura Alfa Romeo Audi BMW Chevrolet Chrysler Dodge Ferrari Ford Honda Hyundai Infiniti Lexus Lotus Mazda Mercedes Benz Mini Mitsubishi Nissan Porsche Scion Subaru Toyota Volvo
